TAI hosts Dr. Matthew Levitt for Discussions on the IRGC and Its Proxies
For its first event of the new year, TAI hosted Dr. Matthew Levitt of the Washington Institute for Near East Policy for a series of meetings on Iran and its Proxies. His visit to Brussels was part of a speaking tour in Europe coordinated with AJC Paris and AJC Berlin. It proved to be timely as it came in the aftermath of the Iranian regime murdering thousands of protestors - the EU was again discussing sanctions against Iran and a potential terror listing of the IRGC.
TAI hosted a lunch briefing with Dr. Levitt in which he addressed both the IRGC’s oppression in Iran and its malign activities abroad. He also focused on the IRGC’s proxies like Hamas and Hezbollah and the situation in the wider Middle East. The lunch briefing was attended by 10 EU diplomats focused on the Middle East and Gulf and Brussels-based think tankers. All appreciated Dr. Levitt’s insights.
