AJC Transatlantic Institute and Partners Organize a Commemoration of October 7 at the European Parliament in Strasbourg
On October 7, Members of the European Parliament, diplomats, civil society representatives, and guests gathered in Strasbourg for a solemn commemoration marking the third anniversary of the October 7 terrorist attacks against Israel. The event was co-organised by AJC Transatlantic Institute, IMPAC, the Mission of Israel to the EU and NATO, and hosted by MEP Hildegard Bentele under the theme "Memory, Dignity, and the Duty to Prevent".
A highlight of the commemoration was the testimony of former Hamas hostage Omri Miran, who shared his personal experience and reflected on the lasting impact of the October 7 attacks. European Parliament President Roberta Metsola also addressed attendees, reaffirming the importance of remembrance, human dignity, and the fight against antisemitism and terrorism.
The ceremony took place alongside the October 7 Exhibition, hosted in the European Parliament from 5 to 8 October and featuring photographs by Ziv Koren and artworks by Yaron Bob.
The commemorative event and accompanying exhibition brought together political leaders, diplomats, and civil society representatives in tribute to the victims of October 7 and in reaffirmation of the enduring values of remembrance, truth, and human dignity.
