International Holocaust Remembrance Day 2020

Remembrance Today: An Intergenerational Conversation

On the occasion of the International Holocaust Remembrance Day, the AJC Transatlantic Institute, the Mission of Israel to the EU and NATO, B’nai B’rith International, and the European Office of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung co-organized an event entitled "Remembrance Today: an Intergenerational Conversation."

With some 150 EU officials, Members of the European Parliament, diplomats, and civil society representatives in attendance, distinguished keynote speakers included Vice President of the European Commission Margaritis Schinas, Aharon Leshno-Yaar, Ambassador of Israel to the EU and NATO, Michael Clauss, Permanent Representative of Germany to the EU, and AJC CEO David Harris.

As part of an “Intergenerational Conversation,” Belgian Holocaust survivor Baron Julien Klener and British Jewish youth activist Hannah Rose shared their very personal experiences about the past and present.

Guests were invited to view the artwork of Holocaust survivors in a collection entitled "The Anguish of Liberation - As Reflected in Art" made available by Yad Vashem.
